Production
Production of a documentary on John Ewing's case has already commenced.  The budget, estimated not to exceed $100,000, is being paid for by friends and family of Ewing.  About 30% of the program was shot at the 1995 Evidentiary Hearing in Jackson County.  Remaining scenes include on- camera interviews, copy-stand video taping of all pertinent documents, and dramatic re-enactments of some key events leading up to the trial.  It is estimated that two weeks will be needed for the dramatic re-enactments of:

Crew
Crew members willing to work on a deferred payment contract should contact the production office at moreinfo@justiceforjohn.org .   Please attach a resume.  Crew members will be provided a per deum to cover meals and miles.  All hard costs (film, batteries, etc.) will be covered by the production company.

Cast
All dramatic re-enactments will be based on the information in the police reports - including reports that were withheld from the defense.  For a complete understanding of each character, it is suggested you read this website.  Cast members should be non-union and, like crew, be willing to work on a deferred payment contract.

Five teenage actresses are needed to play the victims/complainants (Wright, Jensen, Coltrain, Arronson, & Bitterman).  The scenes with Wright, Coltrain, & Bitterman will be rape scenes and require an actress mature enough and willing enough to play the part.  The scenes will be shot in such a way that nudity will not be required.  The Arronson attempted rape will be shot as dictated by the police reports.  Since Jensen made up her "attack," her scene will revolve around her interrogation by police.

One woman in her 30's is needed to play the female jogger, "Pattie Morris."  The Pattie Morris incident is the most pivotal point in the entire story.

Four men are needed to play the different rapists.*   Following are the descriptions of these men:

Wright rapist - white; 5'10" to 6'; medium build, short dark hair; mustache, one day's growth of beard; mid 20's

Bitterman rapist - white; 6'; slim; mid 20's; thick mustache; very curly dark hair "below the ears"

Coltrain rapist - white; 6'3" 190-200 lbs; dark mustache; dark short hair parted on side; 30; and, according to police report "felt soft like someone who didn't exercise."

Arronson (attempted) rapist - white; 5'7" to 6'; slim; dark mustache; shoulder length dark curly hair.

One actor to play defendant, John Ewing in 1984.   White; 6'2" 185 lbs; physically fit; short dark hair; dark mustache;  31 years old.

* Descriptions bore some similarities and some differences.  However, blood-typing information was withheld on all but one case
