The Wright incident occurred on July
30, 1979. Ewing was arrested 5 years later. At the
time of his nolo plea he was unable to produce an alibi for the exact date and time of the
attack. But payroll records from YMCA Storer Camps (where he worked for years) show
that Ewing was employed during that time period.
Several years into his prison sentence, a former
co-worker, Bassem El-Hibri, was able to document Ewing's whereabouts on the day in
question.
Ewing spent years at Camp Storer
as a trip leader for mountain climbing and back-backing expeditions. On the
day of the Wright attack he was miles away preparing for the next outing.
